Long Time, No See!

I know, I’ve been off the radar lately. Missed me? I bet you did. Rest assured, I’m back! You’re probably eager get some news.

Let’s start with Christmas. To say that Veronica loves Christmas is an understatement. She’s obsessed by all things remotely related, and she’s quite exhausting.

My main concern is Santa. Apparently I’m “wild and silly” (Veronica’s words not mine). Surely Santa is indulgent, considering my young age?

He will probably just smile and say “What a cute pup, she deserves gifts” wouldn’t he? And I really need some new toys! Mine are mostly hand-me downs.

FYI Apparently second hand is “The thing to do” these days to be politically correct. (Mine are more like 5th hand!)

Veronica bought, I am sure, THE biggest tree in the store! It’s humungous! Ridiculous! There are decorations all over the house…except in Dennis’s office. Wonder why?

We have scented candles, and last, but not least, we have “the” music! All the time! Veronica has a large collection of X-Mas CD’s.

I got the impression Dennis is not much into the holiday stuff, he’s been rather quiet lately, and has taken on to closing the door to his office.

I heard Veronica mumble something that sounded like “killjoy” while glaring at him.

I had to pose for the Holiday pic. I think I look very mature and important…well that’s the look I was going for.

There are loads of gifts. Please admire my self restraint not to rip them open. (Santa must surely be aware of my very mature attitude in the face of temptation!)

X-Mas is a fun time. Dress code is free but I’ve noticed lots of sparkle this year. Everyone’s in a festive mood.

That same morning Veronica had sent out a reminder in her What’s App group “Julafton”, to strictly respect the order of the evening’s tradition:

Dinner, Swedish songs, X-Mas dance, and gifts. (Apparently in Sweden everyone watches Disney Cartoons first??!! What’s that all about?.)

This year Malkah, (the little daredevil), introduced a new feature. Karaoke! (Santa brought her a kit) She even got the whole family involved. It was wild, fun and a little crazy.

I know it’s not very Christmassy, but surely more so than Disney cartoons. And what more, it was “Veronica approved”.

New Year was a quiet affair, just us. We did however light some sparklers, I love those.

Turns out Santa does understand a young Boxer’s mind and playfulness. I got 3 great gifts (NEW) and treats.

All in all it was a fun holiday but OMG was I exhausted: I even fell asleep in my puppy bed. I’m actually quite fond of it. (Yes, I have, occasionally, “played” with it)

The other day,I heard Veronica say “Let’s throw it away, it looks shabby in the room”. So old toys are fine but not my baby bed…?? How can she talk like that??

PS Here I am, absolutely adorable, 10 weeks old, in my baby bed. It’s part of my persona, I’m sure you all agree. If you see Veronica, please tell her to keep it.

  1. Lovely to read your news Helga. Pleased all is OK with you and your family. We also had a quiet New Year. I had to have two MCTs removed. I was very brave my Mum and Dad said. The wound on my hind was very deep and large. But we too have a fabulous Vet – Justyna. She took real good care of me and stitched me back together nicely. But Mum and Dad says no more surgery. What will be will be … I have a lovely life and I’m full of beans 🤣🐶 Take care Helga – you are a beautiful young boxer girl 🐶😍
